The green lush scenery may be whining due to abuse and mismanagement but still on a cloudless day, Kilosa still offers breathtaking views of the distant mountain range.
Kilosa't forest and mountains are also homes to rare species of plants and animals. Although on the threat of being "hot spot” and destroyed, the forest still offers good camping and hiking activities. Many Tanzanian travelers’ primary reason for coming is to experience the "great African Safari" and most cheap flights to Kilosa offer such adventures. Kilosa forests play important roles in the city's irrigation system. It acts as water storage during the monsoon season and let the water flow slowly to Kilosa's plains and pastoral lands to nourish crops and livestock.

There are no direct hotels in Kilosa but small farmhouses owned by some charming locals who out of their generosity and gracious hearts offer guests a good place for an overnight stay before heading to Tanzania's places of interests. Kilosa’s vast plains and the surrounding hills offer a great experience of African sunshine and heat.
