Taking a trip to the Cuilin, the UK's only alpine mountain range is a paradise for hikers, climbers and nature lovers alike. The Cuilin becomes further separated into the Red and Black Cuilin, due to the color of the gabbro and basalt of the mountains. The mountains are surrounded by the Loch Coruisk corrie, a stunning expanse of water. The view is simply breathtaking, and is recommended by nearly all who come and visit. Tip: Hiking up the Cuilin truly isn't easy, and is recommended for those in good health, with a good level of fitness. It would not be ideal for bringing small children, the elderly or the disabled.
Dunvegan Castle is believed to be the oldest castle in Europe which continues to be lived in, also located on Skye. Not only that, but it's also one of Skye's biggest tourist draws. It's located on the banks of Loch Dunvegan and belongs to the Clan MacLeod, who have lived in the castle for more than 800 years. Tip: Some of the most notable features of the castle are their dungeon and gardens. Be prepared though, past visitors warn that the actual castle itself has limited areas for viewing, as it is still currently inhabited by the Macleod's.

The Quiraing is another famous destination on the lovely Isle of Skye, a landslip geologic formation that makes for excellent hiking. It's a majestic and magical view, and it's at least recommended to hike up part of the path (many are content just to walk the 120 feet up to the 'Needle' point on the path.) Be prepared to see craggy cliffs and peaks covered in green and brown, with small pools of whatever as far as the eye can see. There are also a number of sheep and goats who come to graze here. You may even see eagles soaring overhead, or other local wildlife. Definitely get out of the car and walk at least a little bit to admire the surreal views.
