Chaozhou is a city located in the Guandong province with a land area of 3,614 kilometers. The city has long list of places of interest including Guangji Bridge and The Lighthouse of Buddha.
Guangji Bridge is famous for its parts that are partly made of small boats. To cross the bridge you have to pay 60 Chinese Yuan for one way. Paying for round way will cost you only 100 Chinese Yuan so better pay for 2 round ways. There are miniatures of the bridge in Giangdong Museum and you can buy a replica from wood crafts shops at the entrance of the bridge.
If you want to see original wood carving art of Chaozhou during the Qing Dynasty, you can visit the Jiluehuang Temple in Yian Road. Jiadixiang on the other hand offers ancient family houses and glimpses of life during ancient Chinese period.
If you are on a temple visiting mood, Chaozhou has several good temples to visit. You can start your journey to Jiluehuang Temple and then to Kaiyuan Temple in Kaiyuan Toad. The city is also proud of Ming City Wall. Visitors are free to Walk the 2.6 kilometers and enjoy the scenic view of the hills and the cliffs. If you are smart enough to book in hotels in Chaozhou that are nearby YI Garden or along North Ma Road, you can have a room view of Xu Imperial Son-in-Law mansion with its grand Song dynasty's architectural pattern as well as the Ming City Wall.
