About Wuhan

Wuhan should really be known as more than just the major port for a Yangtze River Cruise. However, if you speak of this capital city to the Hubei province of China, that’s the first information you will learn. As three cities were merged to form the city of Wuhan, however, it has since gained a lot of positive remarks from exploring tourists.

The cities of Hanyang, Hankou, and Wuchang – only separated from one another by a river – were combined in 1927 to form the city of Wuhan. As such, the city is comprised of all the amazing allures of three locations, making it a great destination for explorers and adventurers alike.

One of the greatest adventures you can join in when in Wuhan is the Dragon Boat Festival, which is held every fifth day of the fifth lunar month. Although some traces in history are pointing in different directions, it is believed that the festival actually originated in Wuhan and was only picked up to be celebrated in many other parts of China. Although you can experience the festival in other cities, it is best that you pick up yours from Wuhan because it is believed that the festival is being celebrated in the same way it was held in ancient times.

One other good thing to do and see when in Wuhan is the Yellow Crane Tower. The tower is the sole largest attraction that you can find in the city. It is also considered one amongst the four major and most celebrated towers in the country. There are many great things about coming to visit the Yellow Crane tower. For one, it offers the commanding sight of the Yangtze river as well as the mouth of the connecting Han River. For another, it is also the best place to enjoy Wuhan city in full view. Aside from marveling at the scenic views from atop, visiting the tower will also allow you access to the Snake Hill Park and the Mao Pavilion.

When you shop, it is best that you go for the night market where you can find lots of items available from house wares to makeup to clothing to food to souvenirs at more affordable price tags.
