Cao Lãnh is a humble and quiet city in the province of Dong Thap, which is located in the lush region of Mekong Delta. Although it is the province’s capital city, not many resources are available about the city’s tourism. However, people flock there, take cheap flights to Cao Lãnh, to uncover the eco tourism gems that it has to offer.
Cao Lãnh and Dong Thap make for wonderful tours of nature. The province is mostly famous among tourists primarily for its natural ecological environment. It also has cultural and historical heritage.
One of the most popular destinations when visiting the province of Dong Thap is the largest statue of Buddha in Quan Âm Pagoda. This wondrous sculpture is quite very popular, especially during Buddhist festivals.
When it comes to eco-tourism, Cao Lãnh offers various parks; some are even well renowned internationally. The Tram Chim National Park is famous for its unique bird species – the redhead crane. The Gao Giong eco-tourism site is another must-visit. It is teeming with flora and fauna, over 15 bird species, and precious marine life. Sa Dec also enjoys a constant stream of visiting tourists. The flower village is considered one of the largest centers for beautiful blooms housed within 300 hectares of planting area.
When you take cheap flights to Cao Lãnh, do not forget to bring home the city’s most delicious delicacy – mangoes. Dong Thap is known nationwide for its fruits. Cao Lãnh, in particular, is sought after for its sweet and tasty mangoes as much as Lai Vung is for its mandarin, Chau Thanh for its longan, and Phong Hoa for its grapefruit.
Mekong Delta region is also famed for its coastal areas and Dong Thap has been blessed with a large river body where the locals harvest prawns, catfish, and other freshwater catch.
Cao Lãnh is not very popular among tourists right now but it is expected to be so in the years to come. There are a number of hotels in Cao Lãnh where you can stay and feel comfortable so you will have lots of time to explore the province’s ecotourism value.
