About Milan

Travel to Milan, one of Italy's most important cities and one of the leading art, fashion and cultural capitals of the world.

Start off your visit by coming to see one of the most famous pieces of art of all time, da Vinci's 'The Last Supper,' located in the church of Santa Maria delle Grazie. A UNESCO World Heritage site, although visits are limited to 15 minutes, nearly everyone concurs that it's a worthwhile experience. Tip: You will need to schedule tickets months before in order to reserve your spot. Be sure to do so online, as tickets are extremely limited (only 25 people at a time, and for 15 minutes.) Be sure not to miss out on this golden opportunity!

Quadrilatero d'Oro or the 'Rectangle of Gold' is a fashion lover's paradise, and a square featuring only the most posh and expensive of Italian designers, such as Miu Miu, Versace, Armani, Missoni, Dolce & Gabbana and the likes of Prada. While let's face it, this shopping experience is out of most people's price range, window shopping is always free. It's definitely an experience not to be missed by the hardcore fashionista.

The Duomo `is a glorious church and one of the largest in all of Milan. It took nearly 600 years to complete, and is a stunning example of Gothic and Romanesque architecture. The best part about the Duomo is that you can go inside and climb the stairs or take the elevator to the roof, which offers a stunning view of the gargoyles and spires, as well as an impressive view of the nearby mountains (provided it’s a clear day.) Tip: Be sure and dress modestly (as in covered legs and covered shoulders,) or else you will not be allowed inside.

Pinacotera di Brera is a treat for the lover of Italian art, featuring some of the most important works of Italian artists from between the 13 and 20th century. Mantegna's Dead Christ, Piea by Giovanni Bellini, Madonna of the Cherubim by Andrea Mantegna and Death of Cleopatra by Guido Cagnacci, among many others are housed in the museum's permanent collection. Art aficionados and amateurs alike will be delighted by this stunning collection.

Since you are in a city of fashion, it's important to visit Galleria Vittorio Emanuelle II. Not only is it a mall with among the best shopping in the world (including Prada's flagship location, and other high end labels like Luis Vuitton,) it's also a gorgeous, 19th century mall with brilliant architecture, iron work, mosaics and more. While this mall is rather expensive, it's a great place to people watch, window shop and just grab a coffee (albeit, a very expensive coffee.) Come for the ambience, and stay for the shopping if you can afford it. If you're already in the mood to do some high-powered shopping than why not think about booking flights to Milan, Italy?

Teatro alla Scala

Undoubtedly, it is one of the most important and popular opera houses in Italy and the world. Attending an opera performance at La Scala is an all-important part of your visit to Milan, Italy.

Castello Sforzesco

Castello Sforzesco in Milan, Italy is a splendid palace that holds a significant place in Italian history.
