Tthe Duomo, the Basilica di Santa Maria del Fiore is largely considered to be the 'symbol of Florence,' and is by far one of the most beautiful basilica's on earth. Plaza della Signoria is another 'must' on any Florence travelers' list. Not only is it the main square in Florence, but presents an excellent opportunity to view the sculpture garden of what used to be the private Medici home. The statues include the infamous Fountain of Neptune, as well as Hercules and Cascus and a stunning replica of the David. This is also a fabulous place to take a stroll; people watch and grab a gelato.

Coming to the Basilica di San Miniato al Monte is not only a chance to view a beautiful church in Italy as well as see the city from one of its highest points. Built between the 11th and 13th century, this basilica is beautiful both inside and out. It's also free to enter, and an incredibly peaceful place to view art, history, religion and beautiful views.
