Yangyang is particularly proud of its Seorak-san National Park where the mighty mountain Seoraksan is located. The mountain is part of the Taebaek mountain range and the highest mountain in the range. The best time to visit this beautiful mountain is during autumn. The forest turns into red and yellow surroundings with rocks and mountain streams flowing vibrantly.

Yangyang’s Salmon festival is the major tourist attraction of this county. People from different parts of Korean and the world witness the Salmon festival which is held every year in mid-November. Different Salmon related activities like Salmon-fishing contest, Salmon-cooking contest are the highlights of the festival. Families with children enjoy the bare-hand Salmon-fishing activity and each year the crowd grows bigger as the fun continues to attract many Korean visitors.
