Yaoundé may be Cameroon’s capital but it is not as poised to accommodate tourists as Douala is. Cheap flights to Yaoundé are coursed through the international airport in Douala, which is 350 kilometers away. Then again, reaching the capital city is not a problem because most flights continue on to Yaoundé. You may also choose to get off at Douala and then, catch a train or bus to reach the city of Yaoundé. This will take you three to four hours of road travel.

Once you reach Yaoundé, you should start going around, seeing the sights. They may not be too many but are noteworthy nevertheless. Check out the Cameroon National Museum, the Cameroon Art Museum, the Afhemi Museum, and the Palais du Sport. The churches of religious catholic are also must-see. First, there is the Notre Dame des Victoires Cathedrale, which is the seat of Archdiocese of the city and second, there is the Marie-Reine-des-Apôtres Basilique, which was built on the same site that housed the first missionary church in the country.
