1. Check the Sakura Tower

This old commercial spot houses thousands of stalls that sell clothes, jewels, local crafts, souvenirs, native food and many other things. Most of the vendors are accommodating and they are willing to compromise on the price if you know how to ask.

The Taukkyan War Cemetery, the Holy Trinity Cathedral, and the Musmeah Yeshua Synagogue are also famous tourist spots in the city.

Tip

Moving around Yangon is easy if you ride the local bus. The trick though is to be alert and ready to run or jump inside once the bus stops nearby since it won’t stop for long. Wearing short shorts are not allowed especially on the religious sites and women are advised to dress decently to avoid embarrassment.
