The lovely town of Vila do Conde is situated in North Portugal, on river Ave’s northern bank. This important industrial centre is also a fishing port and many tourists take cheap flights to Vila do Conde to visit the many attractions of the place. The Bobbin lacework is handmade production of Vila do Conde which has made the town pretty famous. The lacework is done following the old traditions of 16th century and the Bobbin Lacework Museum gives the visitor a clear picture of the ancient knowledge and technique associated with the lacework. A National Fair is organised every year from July to August, which attracts many people, especially those with a serious interest in handicraft.
