Utsunomiya is a city in Tochigi Prefecture. Famous for their gyoza and the jazz legend Sadao Watanabe, Utsunomiya-shi has definitely something for the curious traveler. You can book cheap flights to Utsunomiya-shi, where you will land at either Narita or Haneda Airport. It would be cheaper if you fly down to Narita Airport, where you can simply take the Narita Express to the Tohoku Shinkansen and ride the Yamabiko, Nasuno or Tsubasa services to Utsunomya. You can also drop by the Utsunomiya Futaarayama Jinja Shrine, a historical Buddhist temple in the area.
