Urayasu is a small town in Chiba, Japan. Yet, it is known big-time in the world for housing the very popular Tokyo Disney Resort. This happy place is the third most visited theme park complex in the world next to Walt Disney World in Lake Buena Vista, Florida and the Disneyland Resort in Anaheim, California.
This city is just by the border with Tokyo. That clearly means taking cheap flights to Urayasu is worth enough of an adventure as there are a lot of them waiting in line.
The enchanting theme park complex of Tokyo Disney Resort is definitely a must in any Japan itinerary. Inside the complex is a magic kingdom of rides, shows, shops, entertainment complex, restaurants, and hotels. Yes, there are hotels housed within the resort although they can be quite expensive. If you want to save money, you better check out other hotels in Urayasu, those that are outside the theme park complex. They can be a bit pricey, too, compared to other destinations in Japan but they will give you some savings on accommodation alright.
Within Tokyo Disney Resort, you will find two theme parks – the Disney paradise Tokyo Disneyland and Tokyo Disney Sea, which only opened in 2001. Both theme parks have an array of rides and show lined up for an enchanting day or two or more of exploration. The parks complement each other and roaming around both is almost the same thing. The only difference is that Disneyland is set on land while Disney Sea has an ocean setting.
In terms of food, you will find no shortage of food hubs to pick a meal. Most restaurants are self-service restaurants offering Japanese, Chinese, and Western cuisine. But there are table service restaurants, buffet restaurants, and buffeteria as well. They are just not as common.
When you take cheap flights to Urayasu, make sure that you define your itinerary beforehand. Plan out what you want to see and do since there are a lot more in store aside from Tokyo Disney Resort. The fishing village in Tokyo Bay is a must visit. There is also a reclaimed land portion where palm trees, large sidewalks, wide streets, and parks can be found.
