About Temse

Temse is a Belgian municipality situated in Flanders, which is actually an important region of Belgium. The Congress Column is 47 meters high and consists of 193 steps staircase in its interior, leading to a platform enclosing the base of King Leopold I’s statue, surmounting the column.

Another tourist hotspot is the Royal Greenhouses of Laeken, custom-made by King Leopold II. It is a huge compound comprising monumental heated greenhouses situated in the park of the Royal Castle of Laeken, in Belgian city of Brussels. A striking feature is a domed greenhouse called the Iron Church that was constructed to act as the royal chapel.
