Tashkent is the capital city of Uzbekistan located in the province of Tashkent. It is one of the oldest cities in Central Asia and also one of the most beautiful cities in Asia. Historically, Tashkent was considered as an oasis on the Chirchik River during ancient people. It is the site of a square citadel built around 5th and 3rd centuries BC. It became an economic refuge by the Russian during the WW II and thus this city became an industrialized city during the early years of WW II.
Being the capital city of Uzbekistan, Tashkent is the most cosmopolitan city in the country. Tourists marvel at its tree-lined streets, fountains and parks and great hotels in Tashkent. If you are after a short winter and less colder winter, Tashkent is the best place to visit. You can enjoy the snow during the months of December, January and February. The Chimgon Mountain is a marvelous sight during winter season as the snow-covered mountain offers top viewing while riding in chairlifts. The beauty of the mountain covers-up the not so good infrastructures including the chairlifts. The good thing is that you can ride horses and roam the mountain. Uzbekistan horses are famous for being uniquely breed so you can really enjoy riding these horses. Many travelers availing the cheap flights to Tashkent visit the city for its purebred Jumper horses.
You can also visit the Charvak Lake, a water reservoir located within the city. It is only 8 minutes away from the city proper and if want to save in the same way you have saved from cheap flights to Tashkent, you can arrange for a car rental to get there and view the surrounding mountains with great natural beauty. The car rental is only around 100,000 (Tashkent local currency) and you’ll get great saving as fuel tax is subsidized by the government. If you are after water sport activities, don’t expect too much in Charvak, as water activities are somewhat limited here. However, the stalls that sell almond honey will make you forget your frustrations once you’ve tasted the sweet local delicacies.
Tashkent is a modern and beautiful city in Uzbekistan however, the city remains to be attached to its ancient culture which makes it a unique and amazing place to visit.
