Spijkenisse is situated in the South Holland province of western Netherlands, and a constituent of the Rotterdam Metropolitan Area. Hoeve 'Bouwlust - Zeldenrust' features an L-shaped building with high gables, chequered relieving arches, old window frames and shutters and a top pilaster. Besides playing an important role in controlling the polders of Spijkenisse and Geervliet, the water pumping station is also a valuable building with monumental appearance. Greengrocers Mak is a unique vegetable shop that has been selling tasty seasonal vegetables since 1918.
