It got its name from the monastery that once stood beside it. Bisham Abbey was earlier called Bisham Priory which used to be the resting place of the Earls of Salisbury. Today, apart from sightseeing purposes, it is used as a venue for wedding ceremonies, business conferences, team building events, private parties etc.
