Schoten is a green municipality situated in the Belgian Antwerp Province.It is regarded as a green community as 30% of the municipality consists of woodland and lush greenery. The Antwerp International Airport is closest to it and is barely 10 km from its center. Brussels Airport is also close by and is about 50 km from here. The main square comprises a City Hall that has been built in distinctive Gothic Revival architectural style that was prevalent in mid-19th century and was considered to be a romantic and picturesque movement in architecture. Little castle in Schoten is a moated castle encircled with water. This castle dates back to the 13th century and had a farm which is now transformed into a regularly frequented local cultural center.
