Schifflange is a town and commune in south-western Luxembourg, which was formed on August 15, 1876, when it was separated from the Esch-sur-Alzette commune. The Luxembourg – Findel Airport is not very far from Schifflange so that you can easily get cheap flights to Schifflange. Its total population is less than ten thousand people and therefore, does not have too many facilities and services. That makes it an ideal place for tourists who prefer a quiet and serene spot for their vacation, which is devoid of noise and commotion.

Luxembourg itself is quite small so that you can easily travel from one town to another. In fact, it is possible to see the entire country within a few days. Since Schifflange is located in the country’s south west corner, it can be used as a base to head north and explore other areas.

One of the primary attractions of the town is a big swimming pool which hosts a number of activities apart from swimming. Luxembourg City too is not devoid of attractions, Fort Thungen being the most prominent one. The fort was rebuilt in the 1990's and houses the Grand Museum of Modern Art. What is more, a network of underground tunnels can be found under it. You should preferably book hotels in Schifflange in summer because temperatures never get really hot at the time and you can roam around the town comfortably. However, rainfall is something that happens throughout the year. No matter which season you choose for your visit, you should go to the Grand Ducal Palace which is the Grand Duke of Luxemburg’s official residence and Adolphe Bridge which offers some wonderful views of the city.
