Nukus is the 6th biggest city in Uzbekistan. This city is also the capital of Karakalpakstan Republic, which is an autonomous region in the country. You can spend a day or two here because based on the standards of Uzbeks, the town is fairly dilapidated due to environmental concerns. There is a river passing through the western portion of the town called Amu Darya.
