Limbe is not a popular destination among Caribbean travelers. Being unpopular however, does not mean being unworthy. In fact, Limbé offers an option for Caribbean travelers who want to save on the costs. You will enjoy a good load of attractions and adventures in this Haitian city without having to spend as much as you would in The Bahamas, for example.
One of the worthy attractions that you should take cheap flights to Limbé for is the river. It is a base for tourist attraction as much as it is for the agricultural industry of the city.
The Limbé River is a background for many scenic photographs. It is one of the tree-heavy areas left in Haiti. That also means you will be treated to lush greeneries when you tour the city.
More importantly, the Limbé River helps in the flourishing agricultural industry. Limbé in known for its fresh produce including bananas, coffee beans, mangoes, rice, and many other fruits and vegetables. It is the source of livelihood for the locals.
Modern day Limbé still has some sort of traces of its long history. Before it came to what it is today, the city was once populated by the Arawak/Taino tribes. Afterwards, African slaves came and even staged an uprising. The artifacts from both dwellers can be seen at the Le Musée de Guahaba or the Guahaba Museum, a must-see for visitors taking cheap flights to Limbé. It was built and developed by archaeologist Dr. Williams Hodges. He was the same man who built a dam to provide electricity and running water to the city.
Although the city is not as urbanized, it has good health care facilities. The locals are treated to quality services through two hospital facilities: one is run by the government and the other is run by U.S. missionaries.
With obvious limitations in terms of modern facilities, it is fair to expect that you will not find too many hotels in Limbé. Instead, you can look up houses that welcome guests for a low accommodation cost. You will have no problem if you want to save on your trip to Limbé because there is nothing much to spend on.
