Cheap Flights to Kibungo

Kibungo is a municipality in the province of Kibungo Rwanda and about 100 km east of Kigali, Rwanda's capital. It is about an hour from Tanzania border.

Kibungo is a banana producing town and most of the people get livelihood by planting and harvesting bananas. The cost of living was high and there were little infrastructures and dirt roads connect the town to other parts of Kibungo province. The public bus serves as the common transportation for commuting and transporting goods.

Kibungo is one of the successful co-settlements areas among different population in Rwanda. Many refugees from areas with domestic political conflicts turn to Kibungo that by large scale is considered a model in co-settlement agreement. The city faces different political issues and has high security risks for tourists. Cheap flights to Kibungo have been cancelled in the previous years as Rwanda suffered from a devastating drought. Most flights are directed to Rwanda International Airport as there is no airport nearby Kibungo. Kibungo is 20 minutes away from the national Park offering a good place for camping and safariing. The National Park has amazing birds and wildlife. Kibungo is also just a short distance journey to Serengeti Park and Masi Mara. Traveling to Kibungo would allow travelers to take closer glimpse of the picturesque of the coastlines of Zanzibar and Seychelles.

There are no hotels in Kibungo as hotels are concentrated in Kigali, the capital of Rwanda. There are mission houses that give accommodation to missionaries and other people who avail cheap flights to Kibungo for humanitarian works and purposes.

There are places of interest in Kibungo but most are built or maintained by missionaries. St. Joseph center Mission House is a decent and well-maintained building in the Ngoma district providing shelters for displaced youths and women. There is also the 69 years old Kibungo Hospital that was recently renovated and now serving the entire Ngoma districts and Kibungo.

Kibungo is still recovering from the horrifying tales of genocide and with the help of world's humanitarian organizations, the town is starting to rebuild and make use of its wide natural resources for its survival. Kibungo is beautiful, with layers of hills and sprawling fertile lands and with right management and coordinated effort, the town will be able to cope up with different issues and emerge as a great survivor.
