About Kerkrade

Kerkrade, situated in the south-eastern part of the Netherlands, is the western half of a city divided into two, the other half being Herzogenrath. Its history dates back to the 11th century which witnessed a tumultuous time under the rule of several foreign countries. At the time of the formation of the Dutch nation, the border cut the town into two. Both kids and adults will revel in the marvels of the Gaia Zoo; there is a diverse collection of exotic animals and, of course, the Dino Dome which is the continent’s largest indoor playing park. Mondo Verde is considered to be the greenest park in the country while Snow World is the world's largest indoor winter sports park.
