Ifakara is a small town found at the base of Uluguru Mountains within the Kilombero District in Morogoro, Tanzania. It is largely covered of grassland and green fields. Corn, sugar cane and rice are their primary harvests. There are also teak wood plantations in this town. Ifakara is part of a highly agricultural region. The Tazara train station in Ikafara connects the town to the rest of major cities in the country. There are also cheap flights to Ifakara available all year round. This is one of the initiatives of local government and private sectors to boost tourism in the area.
The evergreen bank along the Kilomero River is where some of the scenic spots in town are located. The view of sunrise and sunset from this area is stunning.
