Located in the southwest of China, Guiyang City serves as the capital of Guizhou province. It's the home of various Chinese ethnic groups including Buyi, Hui, Miao and Dong. With almost 30 minority groups sharing the vast area of Guiyang, it is the best place to experience real Chinese culture.
The best time to visit this city is during spring, summer and autumn. The weather is neither cold nor hot. It is recommended to take a bicycle tour to have up close experience of the whole city. You can plan your tour according to the places you want to visit. Places like Huaxi, Qingyan and Guiyang can be visited in one whole day. Your first stop in Huaxi will give you the chance to meet the Han, Miao and Buyi ethnic groups as Huaxi serves as their assembling place. A visit in Huaxi Garden is definitely worth it especially during summer and spring when flowers are in bloom. You can drop by at any Huaxi noodle stalls and have a try of delicious Huaxi beef noodles. For your next stop, bike southward and stop in Qingyan. You will enjoy biking your way passing old buildings depicting ancient Chinese architectural designs. You can spend a whole day in these 3 places and return to Guiyang proper. You can take the bus at the Guiyang bus station back to your hotel. If you want to have your own adventure, you can either buy or rent your bicycle.
With your bike, you can explore the Guiyang urban area to take closer look at the Qian culture then ride to Guiding, about 62 miles away from Guiyang and enjoy authentic Chinese lunch.
