Foc?ani is situated on the banks of Milcov River in Moldavia, a historically significant region of Romania. It is also the capital of Vrancea County and in the middle of the most-famous wine-producing region of the nation. The Wine Festival in the beginning of November in the central park is a wonderful opportunity for tasting a variety of wines produced in the region; Weisse von Fokshan is one of the more popular ones.
The town streets are ablaze with light and colour during the winter holidays ahead of Christmas, especially the Unirii Square that is a popular meeting point for the residents.
