The best-known landmark that dominates Fete?ti is the railway bridge over the Danube River; built by Anghel Saligny, its 4087-meter length makes it the longest railway bridge in the European continent. Just 27 km away is the city of N?vodari that is located on the Black Sea and has two fine sandy beaches that attract a lot of visitors flying in on the cheap flights toFete?ti. The beach at nearby Mamaia mimics the fine white sand that you normally expect to find only in tropical Hawaii. Other attractions of Constanta include the 26-feet high Genoese Lighthouse erected to honour merchants form Genoa who helped establish a thriving sea-trade. Ruins of the famous Roman baths that were fed by 6 mile long aqueducts can be seen. The Roman Mosaics was a large three-level complex linking the harbour to the upper town; the colourful mosaics of more than 9,000 sq. ft. give an indication of the former grandness while The House with Lions, a magnificent late 19th century edifice with four columns featuring impressive lion sculptures, is a striking blend of the Genovese and pre-Romantic architectural styles.
A drive of just 55 km takes you to the Black Sea port-city of Mangalia that sports one of the best beaches in the country; the fine sandy beach is over 600 meters long with the width varying from 50 to 150 meters.
