Denpasar is the capital of Bali Province in Indonesia. Denpasar is derived from the Balinese word “den” which means north while “sapar” means market. The name Denpasar came about because it was originally located in the northern part of the Kumbasari Market. Its old name is ‘Peken Payuk’. For the past three years, Denpasar’s population has rapidly increased by half million from the previous decade. The neighboring metropolitan area alone has approximately 2 million residents.
