Like any other cities in China, Dalian is known for is beautiful history and several tourist spots all around but what this city is most famous for are the beaches. The FujiaZhuang near the Xinghai Square is the most popular and if you happen to be on the area during the peak season you will be surprised to see thousands of tourists in bikinis enjoying the cool splash at the beach. The Golden Stone Beach and the Xinghai Beach are also great tourist spots when it comes to beaches. These places can easily be reached by train or by bus.
If you love underwater adventure then head on to the Sunasia Ocean World where you can have an underwater journey or just observe all the wonderful aquatic creatures inside the tunnel. The Laohutan Ocean Park is equally mesmerizing with its own kind of fun and interesting things to explore. Check the Xinghai Park if you get tired of the underwater view, this place is full of flowering plants, trees and beautiful fountains and is the best spot to rest those tired feet. The park is packed with people on weekends but with its vast area there’s always a spot for you.
You can find some of the cheapest things to buy in Dalian especially if you fancy haggling for imitation brands of clothes, bags, and even gadgets. The Victory Square Underground Mall is loaded with cheap stuff that you can haggle for up to 5 percent of the vendor’s asking price. Good quality electronics like MP3, CD & DVD, flash drives and different kinds of software can be found at the Electronic Place. You can also head on to the West Gate if you want a greater selection of things for sale or check out the Fabric Warehouse for a huge selection of fabrics that you can buy and ordered to be made to your preferred style.
Buses are greatly preferred form of transportation in Dalian but if you want a more economical way to explore the city, then you can do so by walking. The place is small and most of the prime attractions in the city can be reached by foot.
