Visit one of the most beautiful museums in all of Cochabamba, the Palacio Portales, an art museum and center. This building was originally completed in 1927, and was the mansion of a wealthy mine owner named Simon Patino. View the impressive art and take the guided tour to learn of Patino and the art present-it's highly recommended.
Although not in Cochabamba proper (it's about 60 miles or so from the city), come and spend a day or more at the Carrasco National Park. It's a beautiful place to explore the scenic beauty of Bolivia, including mountain ranges, waterfalls, caves, plants and wildlife such as Jaguars, bears and birds. It's definitely recommended for the nature lover or someone who wants to acquaint themselves with Bolivia's natural scenery.

Want to see something truly impressive? Then take a trip to come and visit Cristo de la Concordia. It's actually 33 meters high-which is symbolic. Jesus lived until age 33, and there is one meter for each year of Christ's life, making this statue taller than Cristo Redentor in Brazil! It's located on a mountain top which gives an excellent view of Cochabamba. However, do take a cab up to the top of the mountain; it's reported that robberies sometimes happen on the steps leading to the statues.
Another unique national park to pay a visit to is the Toro Toro National Park, home of ancient dinosaur fossils, caves and rock formations. You can actually walk along and on top of the dinosaur fossils and there are stalactite caves you can check out (over 20 different caves here.) The cave is a bit under water, and definitely makes for a cool trip. You can also see a variety of avian life, and go bird watching.
