The community is quiet and harmonious and the locals are friendly and entertaining. Albeit, a likely destination if you want to escape the noise and pollution of the big cities for a day or two.
The village of Chacarita is dominated by lush flora, with coffee plantation covering the entire area. Though it is just plain and small, many people who took cheap flights to Chacarita found themselves enjoying their stay in that place. The desire to come back is undeniable because the place is vibrating with tranquility. Those who live with their entire life in a polluted city simply fall in love with the peaceful beauty of Chacarita.
There’s not much to do in Chacarita but if you’re interested to wander around you can find an interesting cluster of caverns in the outskirts of the village. The caverns are being developed as a tourist spot and although it’s not yet operational, its stunning beauty is definitely worth a visit. Also, when you travel far to the south, you can find the Corcovado National Park with its breathtaking collection of wildlife and flora. Activities like boating, horseback riding and hiking can be enjoyed by everyone in the park.
When it comes to accommodation, Chacarita has several wooden cabins with plain but clean rooms offering a great view of the hills. The rooms are cheap and perfect for budget travelers and backpackers who want to save on accommodation. You may not find modern hotels in Chacarita so your choice is to stay at the cabin or go out of the village and look for nearby hotels.
Going in and out of the village is easy via Pan-American Highway and although there’s an airport located in Chacarita it’s not clear if it’s still operational so getting cheap flights to Chacarita may not be possible from that airport.
