Carabanchel is a district in the suburbs of Spain’s capital, Madrid and the district is divided into seven wards. Carabanchel is famous for being one of the major spots of action during the Spanish Civil War and it is also the location of the notorious Carabanchel Prison. The next two places you must visit are Cathedral de la Almudena and The Palacio Real de Madrid. Both of them are less than 3 km away from the Carabanchel city center. It is the official residence of the king of Spain, although the king and royal family don’t stay here.
