Caparica or Costa da Caparica, as it is also known as, is a simple and friendly town on Tejo River’s southern side, just about 30 minutes away from the capital city of Lisbon. It is located in Almada municipality. Originally a fishing village, it’s beautiful and relatively unpolluted beaches attract people who take cheap flights to Caparica. The protected zone of Arriba Area spreads over one thousand hectares and contains a vast and rich array of rocks and fossils, some of which are as old as 15 million years.

Those who love golfing or are interested in the game can visit Aroeira’s new golf course which has numerous lakes around its last nine holes. This holiday and leisure complex is Lisbon area’s biggest golfing centre.
