Bogor is one of the cities in the Island Of Java province and best known for its mountain resort in Mount Salak. The city is also nicknamed “The Rain City” as rain showers are abundant even during the dry season.
The best time to come here is from January to November. Avoid the months of December to February, as the city is practically wet as heavy rainfall comes during these months. Bogor’s Mount Salak offers climbing adventures with peak I and Peak II to conquer. For climbers, route Curug Nangka is to reach Peak II and Peak I used the Cimelati and Cicurug. Many local and international climbing clubs avail cheap flights to Bogor to take Mount Salak’s challenge.
For sightseeing, Bogor is the location of the Presidential Palace which is built during the Dutch Colonial era and still has some touches of its colonial culture.
